Babies and bathwater

My mean old parents gave me my first “bath” on Friday. I hated it!

Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa Schofield came for a visit… or at least that’s what Mom & Dad tell me. I slept right through it.

Later in the afternoon I went for a walk with Mom & Dad.

I liked it so much I went for another long walk with Daddy this morning while Mommy took a nap.

Working for the weekend

My first weekend was hectic.

I did a lot of sleeping, though not for very long periods of time. Since I went home from the hospital on a Friday, the nurses and Mommy were a little concerned about my eating habits, so we had to make sure I was getting enough to eat. This means Mommy didn’t get much sleep.

Fortunately, Grandma Nancy was here to help out with things, including taking care of me and cleaning up after me, so Mommy didn’t get too overwhelmed. Daddy went to the store on his bike to fetch groceries both days. If he keeps that up he might just have to get a new bike that can carry more stuff 🙂

We also had some more visitors, with grandparents, friends, and neighbors stopping by.

It took a while, but I think I finally got settled in here at home. We have a good routine of eating, sleeping, and pooping. We went back to the doctor’s office on Monday afternoon. Not only did I stop losing weight, but I gained three whole ounces.

Mommy has been just great through all of this.

Homecoming

First thing’s first. Happy birthday Mom!

We came home from the hospital today. The morning was a little hectic. They promised to get us out of there, but they were running behind. We had an appointment at the Dr’s office across town at 1pm and we didn’t get out of the hospital until nearly 1pm. Mommy was freaking out a little, but the hospital nurses were kind enough to call the Dr’s office for us to tell them we would be late.

The appointment went well and afterward I finally got to go to my new house. Grandma & Grandpa Raguet were waiting there for us and we all had a party for Mommy’s birthday.

We also had neighbors stop by. Some gave me some awesome clothes. Others brought flowers. Others gave us a gigantic balloon.

Finally, I got to sleep in my own bed.

They took blood to perform some tests, which didn’t bother me the slightest bit. Unfortunately, they also gave me a bath. I didn’t like that at all.
